I can see us keeping a small pop up camper for a camping trip or 2 every year. But I'd like to eventually have a park model on some acreage somewhere remote.

Got a Coleman Sequoia bought in the 80's, being as we are non smokers and do not cook in the camper, it still smells new.  Going to hang on to it for a while

Since my babies are still young and I'm just a kid myself ~ had to say I'd be in the same PU.

When I retire I hope to invest in a pickup and a fiver and hit the road.  The kids already know they can come visit, but nobody's coming with me permanently!!  LOL

Great question, Dave.

We love our pop up, but not so much the set up and take down, especially with all of the "necessities" we bring.  Once our 4 y/o leaves his preschool (read: expensive) and starts kindergarten at the local public elementary school (read: free!) in the fall of 2006, we'll probably look to move into a hybrid.  But we'll never leave PUT, regardless of what kind of camper we may be camping in.  :)

5 yrs from now we'll be in a 5th wheel. With any luck it won't take us 5 yrs!
Our goal is in 2 maybe 3. We want to start out with a small 5er, then when we retire get a little bit bigger of a rig.

You must be older than me, Marcy :J

OC Campers

I have to say probably a small hybrid (at the largest 21ft).  Though I love the popup, the setup is just too much work.  A hybrid is the best of both worlds minus a ton of setup time.

Although we've moved to a Hybrid, I do miss the openness of the Pop Up.
My kids, who are now nearing they're young adult years, have expressed a possible wish to camp in a PopUp as a way to save money and still enjoy travelling the country on vacations.
I will likely enjoy reading PopUpTimes for many years more irregardless of what we camp in. Someone, somewhere, that I know, will be camping in a PopUP and I want to share in that adventure.

I voted for a Hybrid, although it COULD be a higfh end pop-up or a lightweight trailer just as easily!

My wife would probably vote for a hotel room for cross country trips, but she's been spoiled! My job USED to included buying trips and seminars to places like Chicago, New Orleans, Orlando, Atlanta, etc! Me, I've LIVED in some of those places, now I want to camp near Crazy Horse, Mt Rushmore, Yellowstone, Glacier, etc, etc , etc.

My goal is to see as much of the USA and Canada as possible, using as little natural resources as possible, while still being able to be self sufficient in meals, sleeping, etc. (hope that makes sense once I hit submit!)

We want a fifth wheel (Sunnybrook 2850 to be exact), but we don't think we will be able to meet our financial goals by then. So, I voted for hybrid.

We love our popup but want something that doesn't take us so long...you know, the getting old thing......we are thinking about the new high-sided fleetwood.  A hybrid would be the best but we still have to park it in the garage.

I don't see changes in my near future.  When DS stops camping with me I will move into something different, but I am not sure what.  Simpler set up, but with a bathroom.  I will not go back to a RV with out one.:)

since we just bought our Hybris new last Oct. I still see us in it. we bought our PU used and had it for 3 years..

Campaholics

This is our fifth season in a PU.  Retirement is still a little than six years off.  So, I see us in the same PU for at least another five years.  After that, maybe a small hybred.  It will have one of those US maps on the side, and we will preceed to fill it in.
