Well everyone...we are heading out tomorrow AM for 5 weeks in the PU!  I hope to keep a journal on our website as we go from place to place.  We'll miss seeing many of you at this summer's mini rallys, but are already looking forward to October!!!!  Have fun!

Hey y'all!

We made it to Midway, Utah!  It's HOT!  Can we all say THANK YOU for our new a/c?  It's also really beautiful and full of outdoor activities!  Tomorrow, it's off to Yellowstone.

I haven't been able to upload the journal yet, but I do have to share that our first night out, the pu wouldn't pop up!!!  Luckily it was only a lost screw in the undercarriage shaft/lift system thingamabob, but Dan made a quick trip to ACE and saved the day!

:) Kristi

yeah ..glad all is going well..lucky for you Dan is handy...My Dan and I would first fight over how it should be fixed and then I would end up fixing it :J

keep us posted...I'm way jealous.. I wish I was camping too

Glad it was only a lost screw and not a broken cable!!  Now that you've got the mechanical difficulties all out of the way early, have a wonderful and safe trip!!  Don't forget to let us know how things are going--since we can't take a long extended trip like you and Dee, we have to live vicariously through you! :)

RALLY IN BLACK HILLS!!!!!
Okay everyone...if you have never made the trip to the Black Hills of South Dakota and Mt. Rushmore, YOU MUST! We stayed at an incredible KOA 5 miles from Mt. Rushmore (NOT a typical KOA...quiet, LOTS of quality activities and amenities and in a more natural setting). There is so much do...we just touched about 50%of the sights , but all worth it. The funny part was we had free wifi, but their filter blocked us from access because it decided "arveeclub" meant gambling!

Anyways, we have some pics and journal from our website (see below). Right now, we are doing an overnight in Big Timber, MT on our way to Glacier tomorrow.

If there was a way to plan a rally 2000 miles away, Black Hills would be the place!

Dan and Kristi...your trip sounds (and looks) so cool!  What a memorable trip for all of you!  Brandon and I are going to have to get all your details on directions and such--we'd love to do exactly what you are doing in a couple of years!  Take care!

We'll be happy to share...our only regret may be that we wish we had your size pop up!:D

Were leaving in September for 4 weeks in our pup. We will be doing the lower states this time around then possibly carbon copy your trip the next year. So we will be watching your progress :) And hope to learn from your trip before we embark. We are a family of 6, with the youngest being 1.5.

We should trade info - we've never done the lower states before.  Except for some of the days with the long drives and kids getting restless in the truck, this, so far, has been an amazing adventure!  And to think, this time last year, we had only camped twice in a tent and bought the pup in August!  We have some pics linked from our website below.  Happy travels and post so we know how it is!  :)  Kristi

We leave Sept 29th. Head to Arizona, then New Mexico (for the Balloon Fiesta), then Texas, then Tennessee. Back to Texas, then up to Colorado then back to New Mexico and Arizona then home to Thousand Oaks :)  Two of our 4 kids are the same ages as your oldest and youngest :) We homeschool so we chose to do our trips on the off season somewhat. Just early enough to hopefully not hit any severe weather :)
