Hi everyone

looking to buy a niagra or cheynne and was wondering if they are prone to the ABS roof and storage problems. Also what are the loaded weights of these units with camping gear in them. Up to what year are these ABS problems mostly encountered

Cheers

* All Fleetwood/Coleman ABS roofs can have the roof sag failure (1996 to mid 2003).
* Most ABS roofs will not fail.
* Roofs from 1996-1998 were more likely to fail.
* Trailers with a 12 foot box are slightly more likely to fail.
* Trailers from hot climates are slightly more likely to fail.
* Most ABS roof failures occur early in the trailer's life, but even 5 year old roofs have failed.

The only reliable way to determine this is to visit an appropriate scale and get the unit weighed.  It's probably more than you would guess.

Besides the sagging failure mentioned by Austin, they can also fail for bowing, cracking, blistering, delamination, and seal failure at the roof to the box area.

If you are interested in any Fleetwood models with the ABS roof system, inspect for these conditions very closely.

Typically, the sagging and bowing conditions will happen early in their lives, cracking, blistering, and delamination can happen at any time. Check under the awning bag for the cracking conditions..... in a lot of cases this is where it is found.

  Hope this helps.
