My Skamper pop-up camper says that it has a GVWR of 1750.  It does not say what the tongue load weight is though.
I recently put a lift on my pickup, so I had to buy a new ball mount with more drop.  My new ball mount says it has a tongue load of 500lbs.  Is this enough?

Thanks.

I would guess your tongue weight would be about 200 or less (IIRC it averages approx 10% of the GVWR). You shouldn't have any problem. :)

Close.  The tongue weight should be between 10% and 15% of the actual loaded weight, which would make the max. tongue weight of the trailer about 263 pounds.

Sounds like you don't really know how much the camper weighs.  Take it to a public scale, unhitch the trailer from the tow vehicle with the trailer on the scale and you will have the actual weight of the trailer.  Push the trailer
off of the scale so only the tongue jack is on the scale and you will know exactly what your tongue weight is.

This is the only way I know of for you to know exactly what your weights are.

Good luck!

Or, you could use a bathroom scale. Or two bathroom scales with a 2x6 in between them, like this:

O---O

Put the tongue on the board, and add up what your scales weigh.
