I have a 1969 sherwood camper that needs new canvas, I have seen a couple of vendors for new canvas but have no clue as to which ones are good, any ideas?

For replacement canvas, the two places to go are Bear Creek or Canvas Replacements.  Both get high marks from posters.  With a unit from 1969 CR may be the bet as they have been manufacturing pop up canvas from the 50's and they retain all their patterns.

Even if they don't have a pattern, you send your old canvas and they copy it.

On our last 1994 Coleman Sequoia,   Bear Creek Canvas  http://www.bearcreekcanvas.com/  replace the complete canvas for 750.00. We had to sent the original canvas to them They didn't have our pattern.  Once It arrived took about an hour or so the re-install it.   The camper looked great with the new canvas installed  http://community.webshots.com/myphotos?action=viewAllPhotos&albumID=306340673  here are two pictures with the new canvas on it.   We sold the PU in May 2005.     Now we have a 2002 Coleman Bayside.    Bear Creek did a wonderful job!!!!

Good Luck

Tim,
Looked at your pictures of you new Bear Creek canvas with great interest seeing we just ordered one. Glad to hear you are happy with it. I have a question for you..... Did your original canvas have the two windows on the back side? Our current Coleman canvas has one large window and we are sort of hoping Bear Creek does the two small ones. We like that look. Also, how long did it take Bear Creek to get you the canvas in compasions to their promised time?

We sent the original canvas to BCC. they didn't have our pattern.   The original had the two windows on the back side  (or working side).  They were great to work with.  I sent the canvas to BCC dec 04 I wasn't in a hurry for it,  once they were done Al called me and they arrived in a week or so.

This was something I added the the canvas:
The original canvas had mesh pockets just below the windows on either side of the door.  I had BCC duplicate it,  in additional I had them add more mesh pockets in both of the bunk ends.  I taped out the areas where I wanted the pockets on the originals.  I supplied the mesh to BCC.  I purchased the mesh through a sailmaker and canvas supplier called Sailrite  http://www.sailrite.com/.
BCC didn't have any of the mesh I was requesting.  The new owners of that camper really like the additions that I made in it.   I never got to use the camper with the new canvas.

Good Luck!!
