Hey thanks all for the replies about the TV charger. I have another query:confused: . Given the same battery configuration.. Should I get a solar charge set up?  I have seen them in Cabelas catalog and I think campingworld.  I would like to read some posts on what type and what size of set up that would be similar to what I would need. like I said before I just recently got into popuping since I have been married. Mu wife and I have bridged the gap in recreational tastes from her need for hotel like luxary:y and my lack of needing anything else than a sleepingbag :tent: . I think the whole idea of bring the hotel into the campground is :eyecrazy: crazy but since we got our popup I found I can do my type of camping and bring her along as well.  I love the idea of drycamping I hope popup times mag will cover more ground in this area DAMN I wish the magazine would come out every week!!!!!!! I did read the last issue that less and less popups are bing sold and more GAS Guzzlin mega mobilcondos are hittin the campgounds.  Looks like if we dont dry camp in a striped down no frills camp ground, then well all be camping in the shadows of a tripple decker monster in some parkinglot listening to the neighbors blasting Sinefeld reruns on thir TV sets while they burn their microwave popcorn!!!:compumad:  MICK

The least expensive route would be to have a pair of 12V Group 27, 31 or 6V Trojan T105 batteries. You can go for quite a while with that setup. If you find that two batteries don't meet your needs then you might want to consider solar or a generator.

I have solar that I permanently mounted on the roof of my hybrid. I like it for the trouble free no hands operation. My batteries are always charged and I never have to deal with anything. I added solar to mine so I could extend my camping season into the late fall and still have enough battery power to run the furnace. My charging takes place even when I am away from the camper.

Our power requirements are pretty simple, the biggest draw we use is the furnace early spring and fall. We have  THIS basic 45W Solar set up. It came with no frame. It was from Costco on line, couldn't find it today so they may not carry it anymore.

We have ours portable, not attached to the camper. It makes it easier to camp in the shade and still reach a sunny spot & get a decent charge. This set up has worked well for us, and has kept up even in the late fall with the furnace going all night (remember we have hard sides, our furnace runs less than a canvass PU). We used a heavier gauge wire than that kit came with, that allows us length (50ft) without loss of output.

Install was pretty easy, took about an hr to do it the way we wanted because our battery is inside the camper in a compartment. Ran a line out the floor to the tongue from the battery, added a plug, makes connecting the panels easy.

They are a little bulky and heavy, but I can move em around without any real difficulty.

Here are pics of how we mounted our 45 watts
