Hi every one, we are looking at purchasing a 1999 coachmen hunter 1060? series
pop up. I was wondering if any one in the forums had any input on this model. I can't find much on the website, and when i found some tehy weren't the same layout as the one we're looking at. Ours has the door at the rear with a full couch across the end. The camper is in wonderful shape, owned by a family of 3
and very well taken care of. It has an awning and add a room, furnace, 3 way fridge and again I can't say enough how well kept it is, they are aking $3500.00 for it. I think it's well worth it for the condition it's in. We went to see it last nite and the rest of the family is as excited about it as I am, since we will be moving out of a 1986 sunlite(small for 5-6 of us) I guess I was just wanting to hear some of your opinions and se if there are any sources of info out there that I'm not seeing.

Thanks for listening

I know where you're coming from.  I was considering a used 1996 Coachmen 1070st (also looked at a 2000 model).  I could not find much in the way of reviews.  RVreviews.com is a pretty good site to surf and I could not find any reviews on Coachmen pop ups.  I can only comment on your price.  We stumbled upon a 1999 Coleman Sante Fe owned by a couple that kept it in great shape.  We bought it for $3500 on the first day it was posted in the local newspaper.  You mentioned the pop up you're looking at is in great shape, so it seems you're in the ball park for pricing.  Good luck!

Well we bought the camper and will pick up in a week or so, He has to pay it off and get a clear title and such. I looked this thing over very well and like I said before it looks great. I was just wondering why I can't seem to find any info on these campers. The folks we got it from have all of the original papers and such, but the layout is a lot different from the 2000 & 2001 series I've seen.  I just find it strange that there isn't any info on these, reviews, opinions or anything.
Well we're going with our gut on this and let you know what happens.

Thanks Steve

Rats...  I should have mentioned this before as this might have helped - Viking bought Coachmen so I was told that if you read Viking reviews, you are basically reading Coachmen reviews as well.  This assumes that the Coachmen PU's have the same specs as Vikings - which I was also told that they are basically the same campers.  This slipped my mind - my bad....  Hope this helps, and I hope you enjoy your pop up!

Steve - as we have been fond of saying around here in times past, every used camper has to stand on it's own wheels. There are some campers, and not all that old, where the word "used" will not fully described ... maybe very, very, very used would be more like it! In other words, they are nearly shot! Then there are the cream puffs that some family has taken loving care of. Of course, that's the kind everyone is looking for! Sounds like you have found a nice one and considering what a new one would cost today with all the accessories you've descibed, do make a difference!

For whatever it's worth, a fishing friend bought a new (2003?) Coachman Clipper 106 Sport and I think it's a great looking and laid out little camper; plus saying my friend is fond of it is an understatement!

Anyway, congrats and hope you enjoy many happy camping trips with it!

By the way, I may stand corrected ... (the memory is the first thing to go!) ... but I think wgee might have that backwards ... think it's Coachmen that owns Viking.

Thanks everyone for your input, as I said before we went ahead and bought the pop up. I think it is a good deal and we will be able to use it even more than before. It's very nice to have such a group with experience and the willingness to help others. Thanks again
