What are these wires for?

Electrical question:  At the battery, I have a thick red hot wire, and a thick white wire.  I usually hook the white to the - and the red to the + of the battery.  In this set-up, lights always work fine as does the pump for the sink.  These  are the only electrical items I have ever used in the camper.  Question is, I also have another white wire, and a black wire that run together, not as thick as the first two.  They come up at the battery also, so I assume they are there to be connected to  the battery also.  What are these for?  My guess is dedicated wires to either the heater or fridge (which I have never used), but I am not sure.

Thanks.

They may be meant to connect to the wiring plug to charge the battery while towing.  Do you have a 6-way or 7-way connector?

Wow, not sure off the top of my head.  I think it is 6.

Trailers that have electric brakes usually have a mechanism that will activate the trailer brakes if the trailer breaks away from the tow vehicle.  This emergency brake system is powered by the battery on the trailer, which could explain those wires.

Try contacting the manufacturer and asking them.:)

I have never seen brakes on this trailer.

It doesn't sound like a break away switch.  There would be the switch and the cable to pull the pin, plus the wire to connect to the positive side of the battery, if the wires were coming out of a break away switch.:)

I doubt a "pair" of wires would be for brakes.  I'm with AB on this one, it is probably  the wires going to the Bargman connector for the charging wires.  I'll bet a meter will show that those wires go directly to two pins on the connector.
