Does anybody have these bunk end solar covers? I found them on line and was wondering if it was worth the money? http://www.popupgizmos.com/.

about 60% or more of us do! they do help reflect the sun off in the summer,( also keeps it darker in the morning hours when you want to sleep pass sun up!) and they also help in the cooler weather to keep in the heat.
they also keep the bunk ends cleaner, and drier!

oldmoose

Love them. They also reduce or eliminate condensation on the bunk ends.

It's almost a tie between Popupgizmos bunk end covers and BAL levelers...which is the best?!!  They both should be sold with all PUPs!!  Saved our marriage.

Camping Coxes

You have to get the solar covers.  They keep the bunks clean, the trailer cool, your bunk dark for sleeping in.  And the best part is they go in the washer when they get bird dookie on them!  They are definitely worth the investment.

THANK YOU ALL FOR THE REPLIES!!!!This forum is the 2nd best tool for the popup camper(after Pop-up times) :D

Yes we have them, for 3 or 4 years now.  They work very well.  Not only do they lower the temperature in the trailer.  They also keep the bunkend clean.:)

Just used my new bunk-end covers from popupgizmos.com over the holiday weekend and I love them!! I can see now why everyone here raves about them. Kept the camper much cooler indeed, but whatI liked almost as much was that they kept the inside of the bunk darker. No more roasting in the glare of the morning sun!:-() They are truly a wonderful thing.

funny...one of the things we don't like about them...ok, about the only thing we don't like about them...is the fact that they keep the camper darker.  We only use them now when it's really hot or really cool because of that. We LOVE the bright sunshine coming in in the morning.  Makes it much easier to wake up instead of snoozing the day away. The brightness is one thing we love about a PU and we don't like it keeping it darker.    I like my house the same way. I have to open all the windows in the morning to let in the sunshine!!

I'm normally a morning sunshine person myself, but sometimes just like to be lazy while camping and relax. Also, SO (who likes it blackout dark when he's sleeping) is usually wiped from work and I let him sleep in while I get up and walk the dog, fix breakfast, etc.

So, do the covers work as well at keeping out the cold? They're going to look quite startling considering the underside is bright red. :yikes:

Deb, not so much as insulation as the fact they keep the fabric roofing at the same temp as the inside of the trailer. No temp difference, no condensation. Long ago on one freezing morning we actually woke up to snow falling from the bunk end roof when we started moving around. The roof temp got below freezing even though we were warm the mositure in the air froze to the fabric and our movement dislodged it, and so it snowed. LOL

Bunk end covers have prevented any further snow or rain storms.

These covers are becoming more and more invaluable. The last thing I want is snow in my pop-up! :frosty:  BRRRR! 'Course I'll play heck getting SO to camp in any weather that might involve snow. There's always me and the dog, though... :D

Snow?? LOL ..that's great!  Not sure how DH would feel waking up to me making a snowman on the bunk!  hehehe

What they said!

I don't have popupgizmos.com's covers, but if the Cabela's covers hadn't fit, I would have purchased them. Love how the AC doesn't have to work as hard, and LOVE the darker bunk in the AM!

Ok so looked into these and they don't have my trailers measurements, does that mean I have to measure my bunk ends myself or they wont have the covers for mine?
