We bought a new TV this year and now need a new drawbar. Is there anyway to measure the campers tongue height accuratly while the camper is parked on a very uneven and sloping piece of land.I don't want to guess and have to buy several drawbars of different rises and drops.

Thanks Jim

Jim - I would think you need to get the camper as level as possible, like maybe a supermarket parking lot. With the camper setting there, unhitched, measure from the bottom of the frame to the ground, at the front and the rear of the camper. When you get these two measurements to agree (using the front dolly wheel jack), then measure from the top of the hitch coupler to the ground - this is your hitch height.

Determing the drop (or lift) for the ball mount (your calling a drawbar) for your tow vehicle measure from the ground using the hitch height figure. Considering the tow vehicle will squat a tad with the load weight of the trailer tounge, I would measure to the bottom of the ball mount and the additional height of the ball will compensate.

Hope you can make some kind of sense to all this.
