Need Some "professional" Advise.  The Interior Lites On My '05 Fleetwood Utah Have Quit Working.  I've Checked The Fuses, Bulbs, Connection On The Outside And The Switch Under The Galley.  All Appear Fine.

Any Other Suggestions...

If All Else Fails I Can Admit Defeat And Return To The Dealer For Them Fix It Under The Warranty...right?

Quick question....

Is the light on at the propane sensor lit?

If not, it appears that you have lost all power for the 12 VDC coming from the converter.

If the sensor is not being powered, this rules out the possibility that you would have a bad galley kill switch, or a bad connection at the connector outside the PU tent wall.

A couple of things that may cause no power coming out of the converter:

  1. The automatic switch-over from battery to converter faulty.
  2. Blown fuse inside the converter box. Sometimes it will blow if the battery was connected wrong polarity. Check the fuse in the battery line also if so equipped.
  3. Faulty 12 VDC converter circuit.

But just about in every case, it should be checked out by the dealer.

  Anyone else can offer suggestions?

Thanks, Hoppy.

Yes The Propane Sensor Is Lit.

I Don't Think It Has Anything To Do W/ The Converter B/c I Was Running On 120v But I Don't Know That For Sure.  I'm Not Familiar W/ How The Wiring (converter, Ect...)works.

I'm An Electrical Moron...

The two problems that cover about 98% of roof lighting not working are the galley switch and wiring connector.

The galley switch is located in tha galley base and is designed to be closed when the upper plart of the galley is either flipped ot swung into position. When the switch is closed it allows power to go to the roof wiring. It's a safety feature that gaurantees the lights can't be turned on with the roof down. But, it's not uncommon for the switch to get out of position or go bad. Jumpering past the switch to check it is OK, but not a long term solution.
As for the connector. Located in the wires going to the roof (and there may be two depending on the model/brand of traielr) it's not uncommon for the connector to look plugged in but not actually making contact. The "fix" is to unplug it and plug it back together till it seats.

Here is a quick overview just how the typical electrical system works in a PU:

When you plug that big 30 amp 120 VAC cord that comes from the side of your PU, it goes directly in to the converter. At this point inside the converter, the line is split into two different 120 VAC services that power all your wall outlets. One will be a 20 amp that is used to power the Air Conditioning, and other high amp draws like heaters, toasters, microwaves, etc. The other line is a 15 amp service that will power low amp requirements such as fans, radios, and small TV's. These are protected using two circuit breakers.... just like your home breakers.

Now also at the converter, another line feeds 120 VAC into the converter that converts the power into 12 VDC for items like the sensor, ceiling lights, outside porch light, and any other 12 VDC recepticle.

Your converter also has a charger circuit that will charge a battery if provided.

As mike said, since there is power coming out of the converter (this is a good thing) it maybe a bad galley switch or the connector is lose or corroded that I mentioned earlier.

  Good luck.
