Sway bar vibrating when turning!!

Has anyone had their friction sway bar vibrate when turning?  When we left our house Friday I noticed a grinding-vibration when making turns.  My first thought was the ball needed greasing, so I stopped at Wal-mart and bought some Reese grease.  After greasing the hitch we started to pull off and it happened again.  The vibration was quite loud and you could feel it though-out the TV.  I then had my wife move the vehicle slowly as I watched the vehicle turn.  What was happening was the sway bar was not sliding easily.  Instead it was making small jerks as it went back and forth causing the vibration.  It was raining when we left home so I am not sure if that caused it or not.  We have driven in rain before without this occuring.  On the way home Sunday the sway bar worked fine - no vibration.  Any ideas!!!!

Thanks

The bar may need to be cleaned.  If it is rough it may need to be sanded, or maybe it is on too tight.:)

Although I don't have one, I have read that they can become "glazed". Might try what Tracy suggested, or, as I have also read, rough it up with a wire brush.
