Right turn Signal and Brake Light Don't Work

Among other checks and just before pulling out, we check the lights:  brake, running, and turn signals.  Usually all is well.  But, after our Labor Day weekend, the right rear turn signal and brake lights did not work.  Trailer lights are always suspect (IMHO), but the Coleman has always been good.  Finally, today, I was able to 'git after it.'  Checked the bulb - OK; checked the soldered connections on the fixture - OK.  Great, probably a broken wire in some impossible-to-get-to place.  How 'bout the Bergman plug.  Continuity test showed that the male (TV side) was putting out (ok, ok, I know this is a family forum) - but it took a while to find which slot is for the turn signal.  Then the female side.  Ah, no continuity.  So, I pulled the female side apart and found that the connections were all loose, and that the turn signal/brake line was all the way off.

"Always start with the least expensive part first," the ol' SSGT who ran the Auto Craft Shop once suggested.  Forty years later it is still pretty good advice.

Anyone else ever have problems with the Bergman connector???

Yep, and it works for me when I remember it.  Wire is cheaper than amplifiers.  Fan belts are cheaper than water pumps.

I've never had a problem, but that may be because I replace them every 4-5 years.  Exact life depends on a number of things, including climate and how much road salt it sees.
