My vehicle to trailer wiring harness was lost on a recent trip.  The lost wiring harness worked with both my Toyota T-100 and Chevy Suburban.  I am attempting to fabricate a replacement.  I have a six cable connector on the trailer and four pin, flat connector on the vehicle.  With the White cable to ground, the yellow to left turn, green to right turn, and brown to tail-lights the only function I get is through the yellow cable.  All other connectors on the trailer seem dead.  I have checked the assembly with volt meter to the trailer six point connector.  Are the remaining blue and red cables needed for the trailer lights to operate properly?

Check out Lee's Electrical Tips Web Page.

He has a diagram of both the 6 round and 4 flat that you shold be able to match up.

Jayco normally uses the blue wire for brakes and the red wire as a 12 volt hot line from the TV. Neither of which connects to a 4 pin.
