If all it needs is canvas, then the $700 price tag for new canvas on a 90's trailer is a great bargain...especially if you're only paying $100 for the trailer. The A/C alone is worth $400 or more!!

As long as it is early 90's, I would agree.  If it's a '96 or later, it might have the dreaded sag and be pretty close to worthless.

Hey wkndarcher,

I think that would be a good price to get and fix up. I don't know if I would do it myself if I already had one but if you do it and sale it later, you might make some money on it. BTW: you should check out the TN board and join us on some campouts. :)  //www.tpuc.com

I would go for it!  If the camper is going for $100 clams and it cost $700 or even a bit more for the canvas, it is worth it. Not to mention the additional price of having the convience of A/C....thats worth $400 buck if not more...
I bought a 96 sun valley back in Feb. paid around $3000 for it and am loving it.  It has a 12 foot box plus 2 king pull out beds A/C and all kinds of other great features.
I really like this lay-out because of all the room. has a nice L shaped bench for lots of sitting room on those rainy nights when the kids are restless.  We can sleep 9 or 10.  I suggest popping it up and checking out the hi priority areas, maybe you don't need to replace all the canvas at once.
Once the canvas is replaced it should raise the value of the pu, and also give you many years of enjoyment, and satisfaction.
Good Luck, and keep us posted

Doesn't sound like you can get hurt too bad. Check the tires. If it has brakes, you might want to consider installing new ones. They're pretty cheap. Check the frame for rust. You might want to check the upholstery, cushions, battery, propane tank, wiring, fridge, heater and water heater. Ad all of it up, it could get costly.

I just paid $4000 for a 2002 Coleman Tacoma with A/C, awning, enclosure and a lot of other goodies. You couldn't tell that it isn't brand new.

Sounds like a little elbow grease and new canvas might find you a nice rig. If I were you, I would have the new canvas coated and sew on new insulation blankets over the bunks. Just check it out carefully and count ALL the costs involved. Sometimes, it's better to buy a rig that is ready to go.

Good luck.
