Setting the brake control

I have a Prodigy digital brake control, and i was wondering what setting that any of you who have this control have yours set at. I know i have to adjust according to how my PU handles, but i am interested. Thanks..........Ed  :sombraro:

As far as mine (I have 2 Prodigy's - one in my F-250 and one in my E-250) I keep them on "Boost 1" to have more initial braking power.  "Boost 2" and "Boost 3" are too grabby for me.  The big TT likes 12 and the hybrid likes 9.5.  Every trailer / tow vehicle combo will be different.

I think mine is set for 9.5 this year, but each spring after having the trailer brakes adjusted I reset the controller according to the directions.  Just find an empty parking lot or road to do it in.  People don't like you slamming the brakes on in front of them.

One of the things most setup guides miss is that electric brakes have a "warm up" period.  You have to use them a few times or drive about 10 miles before adjusting the controller or you risk having too little brakes later on.  Once I read that, adjusting our prodigy has been a snap.

We don't use any boost, and the full scale voltage is about 8.5.

It's a lot easier and works better than the Tekonsha Voyager it replaced.

Sure wished we had electric brakes on the UHaul we just towed to North Carolina!

In the directions that came with my Prodigy it said to drive about a 1/4 of a mile with the trailer brakes slightly activated to warm them up before you adjust them.
