Yes...also the dog this time. Maybe we'll take her to Bushkill Falls again Friday and tire her out some!

It appears as though you're gonna have a trespasser amongst you. Well, actually two; me and Jeanette. Just a few days ago we sat down and decided on the 6 weekends we were going to camp this year. Coincidentally, April 21-23 was one of them. We also wanted to try a new place; Otter Lake (we camp strictly in SP's, but figured a private campground might be good to try once). Notice the parallels developing here?  :p

When I saw this thread it seemed like a darn good match, but since you started planning this thing in December of 05 it was pretty apparent that we had come to the party kind of late. But I gave Otter Lake a call anyway, and much to my surprise they had H6 open for that weekend! So we're going to be there.

We've never camped with a group this size, just a few other couples at a time, but it's definitely something we wanted to try. I'm going to read over the entire thread, but is there anything we should know? Are we supposed to be bringing food for the group? Firewood? Drinks? Do you plan activities, or is it just ad hoc? When camping with other couples Jeanette and I are usually the "ring leaders" because we have the innate ability to plan and organize, something most of our friends don't have (or just pretend not to have so we do it for them :D ). But since this will be a new experience for us it's better to ask up front so we know what to expect.

Guess I have to start thinking about when I can unwinterize and prep the camper now...

we normally eat at least one meal as a group, we normally have a pot luck dinner, which is bring a dish to share, example, i normally bring a  meat dish and/or a tray of baked mac and cheese.  tracy is good for black forest cake! but since its her b-day, hershey girl is bringing the cake. so if you have a favorite dish you want to share, please bring it!

tracy are we doing or going any place special that weekend?

Like Dee said we usually have a pot luck dinner on Saturday night of a weekend group trip.  Other than that it is open for what ever anyone would like to do.  You don't have to do anything, but usually someone will make a suggestion and off we go.  I will add Saturday night pot luck dinner items to the first page of the thread.  Hummm.....what should I bring?

tlhdoc

I will bring a NON-Birthday cake.  Camping black forest cake, IF I can borrow someone's oven to bake it. :)

I'll do a taco salad. I may have to take Jason into the city that day & if so, I think Chris can handle the salad fixings.

HMMMMMM, IS THAT A HINT?   of course my oven is your oven!

i will make  chicken and wild rice in the dutch oven, and you can use the campers oven

tlhdoc

Dee I can bake the cake ahead of time, if that will help you.  I think there might be another oven on the trip too.:)

Back on page 7 or 8 I promised a pot roast in the dutch oven if Rick makes the fire...I can make a fire if I HAVE to...I still have firewood from Watkins Glen I need to bring and use up.

Sorry Tracy, all I have is one of those coleman on top ofthe stove ovens. not a "real" one...don't think I can help much. You can borrow that one if you want to, it is under the bench seat with the dutch oven.

Paula I have one of those ovens, but it is not big enough to hold a 9 X 13 inch cake pan.  I think there will be two people on the trip, besides Dee that have ovens in their campers.  I will borrow Dee's oven, but I can bring my big toaster oven if I need too.:)

dee106

i have oven, and mircowave oven, and dutch oven, sorry no toaster oven, just toaster!

SheBantam

I have one of those double toaster ovens...I forgot until Dee said she did not have one...Becky uses an Electric Fry pan, one of the oblong ones for her baking...
