Hey Everyone,

Believe it or not, we are in the planning stages for Trick or Treat in Temecula 2006!  Dan and I are going to wagonmaster.  :D  I have secured 30 sites at this time BUT there has been a change in the price due to, I believe, new owners. :(  At this time, I have been unable to get them to change their policy for the upcoming year...basically that being that they will not offer us a group rate.

Therefore, the rate will be $65 per night for a total of $130 for the weekend.  Before we go any further, please take part in this poll.  I don't want to go ahead if this poll tells me otherwise, BUT if it's a "go" then we'll get this party started!

 Thanks,
 Kristi

Hi Kristi,

Thanks for checking this out already and being our wagonmaster!

We love Temecula especially at Halloween. I don't think any other campground would offer so many Halloween related activities and the kids would really be bummed if we didn't go.

There would be MUTINY at this household if we didn't go!  I know of one other campground that has a hayride and activities, BUT it's membership.  We're checking "just to see", but I have doubts and no clue if the pricing would be any different.

We don't care but the price is awfal high.  The SCCampers make their own party where ever we go...We have our own activities and decorations at that campout especially.  We never have time to do the camps activities, we just particiapte in the groups stuff...Woods Valley have a Hayride and bates farm next door is very festive at that time of the year..fields of pumpkins...Who knows if the new owners will have all the activities that the old owners had at Temecula.

hey Kristie,
thanks for taking the helm on this one!
WE LOVE THIS RALLY!!!

COUNT US IN!
:)

The kids really liked it and still talk about it!

Combine costume wearing + camping and you have a year's worth of stories from them!

How often do you get to see a really bad magician in the cold rain, outdoors, at night???!!  We're in! :p

gotta go...it's tradition and  the kids would KILL ME!!!!! if we didn't go this it's their favorite. unfortunatley the popularity of it (as the campground is pretty much comepletely booked the whole monthALREADY!! ) has given them the "power" not go give us a group rate.. whether we go or not the sites will be filled. we had some electrical issues with our sites last year and I think they did a good job getting it fixed.
They consider this a Holiday and their normal rate for Holidays is $55/night but they charge more for Halloween do to the costs of all the activities blah blah blah..

Woods Valley is one possible alternative that we are considering...we are also investigating the possibility of Silent Valley IF we can get in under someone's membership.  One concern was that Woods Valley may be just a little too far for some of our upper L.A. area members.

Based on my phone conversation w/Vail Lakes, I do feel confident that they will be continuing all of the Halloween activities.  That was their reason for the rate increase - to help cover those costs.

I'll keep this thread updated as I can find out info on other possibilities, BUT I just couldn't take a chance and not at least put down a deposit on Vail Lakes - worst case, I'm out $20.

Sue and Dave, Chez Way, Beacher, and Darksiders,

If the poll continues to stay positive for Vail Lakes, I'll have the available sites posted after the 10th.  I'll put you in the same place as last year, and then you can reevaluate and let me know if you want a diff. spot.  ;)

Our family loves the Halloween Rally at Temecula!  Regardless of the price, we are there!  Thank you, Dan and Kristi, for heading this up!!

Silent Valley would probably let us in if we listened to their sales pitch.  I had reservations for last Feb., but the rain washed out the trip.  They were very, very nice to deal with on the phone.  LCMS Pastor, who's listed as a member on the SCCampers website, has a membership, I believe.  I'd be much more inclined to join you if the cost could come down a bit -- $130 for 2 days is a bit rich for my blood, no matter how delightful the company is!  ;)

    I wouldn't be able to get Dan to go in a million years if that was the case...They don't allow campfires and at that elevation in Oct...it will get pretty chilly....would like to try it in the warmer months (as long as we didn't have to listen a a sales pitch)

Couldn't hurt to ask, could it?  :D

We don't have those spots this year...I put you directly across the way in 384 and 385 tentatively.  I'll get the list posted Tuesday and you can let me know if you want different spots than those.  :)
