I just picked up a dual 20 lb LP tank mounting bracket kit (Manchester from Dyers online) and Marshall 254 auto changeover regulator.  No instructions or screws came with any of it.  Can anyone tell me what size screws I am supposed to use to mount the tank holder bracket to the PU frame, and also the regulator to the regulator mounting bracket?

 Thanks.........

TheWallRocksJohn, I see you have a Bayside. That has the high pressure outside stove right? You are not going to be able to use the auto changeover regulator without a great big hassle, if at all. I have 2 tanks on my Tacoma but they are held down with J hooks.

 Bill,

If you can, tell me more.  I don t know much about the LP system, so any further words of wisdom would be helpful.

I am assuming that I need to run a tee that goes right off of one tank line for the high pressure stove?

I picked up the Manchester dual tank kit because I absolutely hate those J-hooks!

 Regards.....

 TheWallRocksJohn,
There are others here that can probably be of more help than I because I don t have the high pressure stove.  I ve seen this come up before, and if I remember correctly, the problem is that the regulator that came with the camper is a two stage regulator. One stage for the high pressure stove and the second for all the other gas appliances. People have talked about putting an auto changeover regulator on the GT series, then after much hassle decided it wasn t worth it. I chose not to put one on our camper because I wan t to know when a tank runs empty.  Hopefully someone that has more experience with the high pressure side of things will chime in.

I know what you mean about the J hooks, but since they only have to be undone every once and awhile, well........

TheWallRocksI have 2 tanks, but I switch the regulator when one gets low.  The hooks are a bit of a pain, but I don t know how the other systems work.

I went to the dealer and took some pictures but that didn't help much.  I think your supposed to drill some tap holes in the cross braces to mount the lower bracket.  Say do you know if your supposed to replace the old regulator with the new one or leave the old one in place and attach the 254 to it?

If you have a high pressure stove, you cannot use an autochangeover regulator without a bunch of extra plumbing that I can't explain.  Autochangeover regulators only work with low pressure appliances so if that's all you've got then you are in business.

You replace your existing regulator with the autochangeover.  The pigtails from your LP tanks should attach directly to the inlet ports on the Autochangeover regulator.  The outlet conncets directly to your gas system.

I don't know about the mounting screws, but  I would guess they don't have to be huge.  I'd just ask the guy (or girl) in the hardware section of the local home improvement store.

good luck
