We may be interested- can you give us a little more info.? What time it starts, can anyone come?  Do we need to bring anything? Are you camping?

We were  wanting to take a road trip this weekend- this might work out good provided the weather is nice.

 Thanks,

I think the weather report my be right on:
http://weather.yahoo.com/forecast/USCA0279.html

If you look in this next link, you will see an area of high pressure (clockwise rotation in the clouds) followed by an area of developing low pressure (counterclockwise rotation) coming down from the NW (up in the Western Aleutian Islands). In between is a strong cold front (band of blue clouds, stretching from Hawaii to Washington State). If that low pressure area continues to deepen, the weather could be quite severe as the warm air in the high pressure collides with the cold air in the low pressure system behind it. Could see thunderstorms and quite windy conditions.

Having said all that (good sailor that I am :D ), this is SoCal. These conditions will only last for a few hours then be gone. It may, however, leave some cool breezy weather for Sat night & Sunday. For you guys in the frozen tundra :p , we here in SoCal consider 60 (high) to be quite cool and 36  :yikes: (low) to be nearly unthinkable. We even wear jackets then :D .

We're in site 17. The actual DOG is in the picnic area and who knows what will happen with the rain. All things being equal, we start setting up at oh dark hundred. Most seminars start 9 ish to 10 ish. Here's the link: http://socaldos.org/BeachDog06.htmEveryone is welcome to come by and watch and eat.

Of course, it's going to rain--a couple of SCCampers members are going camping  but hey, that's why we bought pop ups and gave up that tenting thing, no? :sombraro: We will be in site #5.

Last year, we went to the DOG but didn't camp. If you want to come on down for the day, it is a lot of fun and as always, tons of fabulous food in black pots. You can also purchase DO stuff from the SoCalDOS, so you may want to bring your checkbook. If you want to participate in the lunch potluck (i.e., eat), you'll need to bring a dish to share with others. The potluck is posted as starting at 2:00 p.m. You won't want to be late for this one.

There will be demos on Saturday morning that are informative and fun to watch. Our very own modest Moose is giving a demo on how to use a "volcano" with your DOs. (See, Paula? If Bill had never bought the volcano, he wouldn't be able to provide such a worthwhile community service to his fellow DO-ers...as usual, he was just thinking of others when he came home with that purchase...;) :J )

We were going to enter the SoCalDOS dessert contest on Saturday but with all the demos to see and set-up it would entail (not to mention the threat of rain) we have decided to lower our stress levels and just relax and enjoy the day with Mom and Griffin. Griffin is sooooooo excited to camp with Mistuh Moose and Miss Powuh that he can barely sleep! He was very sad, though, when I told him that that none of his same-aged camping friends would be camping with us, so if anyone decides to show up for the day on Saturday, Griffin will truly be beside himself!!!

I've got a guy coming to fix our home gym equipment (yes, I've atually been using it, but you can't tell....yet!) and as soon as he is done, I'm off to pick up the camper and get packing! We haven't been camping since Dee's Birthday Extravaganza, and that just ain't right!! Yippee!!!!! We're going camping!!! :D

The guys at KOA sent me an e-mail newletter and they mentioned the Campfire Cafe .  It looks like it might appeal to some of the same people attending the Beach DOG.
