Fire destroys Scamp factory in MN

I don't think this is the place that makes the Skamper.  This happened about a week ago and I forgot to post.

My understanding is they were well insured and will completely rebuild.

You're right, AB.  They make those itty-bitty TTs & 5-ers.   Here is the link to their website.

Whoa....My dad bought one of those little TT's last year and he absolutely loves it. When I told him about the fire he felt really bad for the company and its employees. The company is family owned and operated and when he picked up his Scamp he got to meet alot of them. He says its a great company and hopes they will rebuild.

They are rebuilding and taking orders, my brother has one on order.

But they lost the f/g molds, so they have to rebuild the mold from some  they still had sitting in the yard.

So the ETA of my brothers new camper is unknown. He is going to wait for it anyway.

One of the bigest losses is the molds used to form the fiberglass bodies.  They have been using parts from a couple surviving trailers as plugs to build new forms or molds.

If you are waiting to tke delivery, it may take some time, but you will get your trailer!
