We are looking to buy our first PUP and are looking at a local dealer that has quite a few used models. What sort of room for negotiating is there when you buy used? I know when you buy new you can knock anywhere from 20-30% off the MSRP, but what about used? I'm not a seasoned negotiator, so any tips would be greatly appreciated!

I don't know what % can be taken off the top but there was a used pop-up I had an interest in and the dealership was asking $3900. I felt it was more than the unit was worth so I did not make an offer. I then saw it on e-bay and the reserve was $2200. I should have made an offer, all they can do is say no. The same dealership was going to give a friend of mine $3000 for a 2003 coleman Sante Fe with air on a trade  :eyecrazy: (of course they decided to sell it themselves). Good luck.

Used PU prices can vary greatly. The best thing to do is to get the NADA price and use that for a starting place.

I prefer NADA myself, Tracy.  I find the NASA prices out of this world.  :J

I 2nd this -- the NADA Guide is what all the dealers use.
