Holiday Weekends have traditionally been TABOO but I am will to risk the wrath of the NNC Gods!  We will be camping in the Yellowjacket Campground on Union Valley Reservoir within the Crystal Basin Recreation Area over the Memorial Day Weekend.
These are Forest Service/SMUD campgrounds.  NO HOOK UPS - but there are flush and/or Pit Toilets, water spigots, nearby Dump Station(separate fee) and a Boat Ramp.  Some sites can be reserved - others are first come/first serve.    Reservations can be made at www.reserveusa.com

Made my reservations I am there - thank you TowRod.

Zamboni or Me? :J

Probably me.  Perhaps Coloma is renowned for being crowded on Memorial weekend?  We're going to http://www.colomaresort.com/ with the Starcraft camping club.

Glen, will you do a cg review on this place when you get back?  Coloma is a field trip destination that most Placer county elementary schools go to.  Christopher went here for 3 days in November and had a blast.  He wants us to go camping here sometime.  It is pricey (I think for our family it was going to be close to $50 a night) but if it is nice I don't mind shelling out the $$$'s
