I bought my trailer about 3 years and the roof need a rebuild. It seems to be broken just before the radius on the back. It has a dent, is sponge when pushed up on from the inside and leaks. I have read a few stories about rebuilding pop-up roof - seems pretty easy just time consuming. A new roof is $1726.00 delivered. Any stories from exprience on this one. would love to hear what you think and have gone through. Rebuild or just buy the new one?

My 2003 Jayco Eagle roof is constructed with a 0.020inch or so aluminum skin top and bottom that is bonded to a 1inch sytrofoam core. Your roof is "soft" because the bond line is no longer sticks. My advice is, if there's no water leak paths on the top, then just add a structural brace (alum box extrusion) under the soft spot to support the weight and prevent further disbonding. The brace would extend from side to side full length. Some new roofs come this way. Other more difficult options are to drill a series of small holes from the bottom skin and using a syringe, inject resin in the soft spot to re-bond it. I had a worse problem because my roof blew off in a storm (I bought the camper that way, totaled). I was able to find a dealer that had a new roof with some light hail damage that I bought for $0.30 on the dollar. If you have an roof AC unit, you might consider removing it to save the weight on your weak roof.
