Anyone have to deal with replacing the main lift cable?  I have never seen this arrangement underneath a pop-up before.  The trailer says:1993, "Startcraft Venture 1704", but really havent found much info on it.  I thought maybe they put this set up for several years at least a few models, if not all.  When the cable broke is snapped back into the tube that it runs thru.  Any info would be helpful.  Thanks...

I have a 95 Starcraft.  I had an issue where I needed the roof to go higher because the door was not fitting properly.  I called Starcraft and spoke to a tech. to ask who makes the lift system on their campers.  He told me that Starcraft has its own system and manufactures it themselves.  He was extremely good about guiding me through the process of adjusting the main cable system to get the roof to raise up higher.  I would assume they would be a good place to start asking about repairs on the main cable also and if it is possible to repair yourself.  They may end up referring you to a local Starcraft dealer, but it would not hurt you to ask.  He really did help me, I had no need to go to the dealer after speaking with them.

The website is:  http://www.starcraftrv.com/.  I believe I went to the "contact us" area.

Do you remember how the main cable attaches to the 4 individual cables?  That is all I need to know.  I will put it up on a set of car ramps this weekend and see what I can remove without permanetly damaging something.  I bought a 20' emergency brake cable that has a good tensile strength so I just need to get to the other end.  Thanks for the advice.
