We would appreciate any input on Hi-Lo campers....good and bad.............BEFORE we buy one.........which may be VERY soon.....will be our first and may be our LAST camper...........depending on how it goes!!! Thanks.

I would think that you'd get more of a response from a travel trailer board.  While Hi-Lo does get put up, I think it's considered a travel trailer, not a pop up.

That said, I have only known 1 person with a Hi-Lo and they loved it.  You may also want to take a look at Trail Manor

Our first camper was at 1999 Hi-Lo Towlite 19TL that we towed behind our Odyssey Minivan. We enjoyed the rig a lot but it was small for a family of 4.
The lift system worked well and we never had any leaks.

Very well mannered on the road and we managed to get 15 mpg towing down I-5 when we went down to Pismo Rally in 2004.

I prefer the Hi-Lo set up vs the Trailmanor as the tandem axle helps reduce sway and you can still get into the unit when lowered -  but YMMV.

My parents got rid of their Niagara after just one year and switched to a TrailManor, which they prefer.  Don't remember what model.

They tow it with their Town & Country minivan.

Hi-Lo's have been around for a long time.  I have seen older units in campgrounds, so I am guessing they are built well.  Is there anything in particular you want to know about one?  :)

Check this one out. I called the guy and it is sold. Looks kinda cool though. I didn't know that they existed.

The Tow-Lites are built about 40 miles from me.I know they sure sell alot of them and the do last a long time. Other than that,I know nothing. :)

Congrats.  I'm sure that you and yours will have a great time in it.

Enjoy your Hi Lo, I fell in love with one at a camper show a couple years ago.
It had a slideout, never saw that layout again at any shows since.

Hi-Lo's are an interesting breed of trailer. They combine some of the best attributes of a normal TT with some of the best attributes of a PU... You get the full bath, hard sides all the way around, more cabinets & storage space, bigger refridge, dual axles, and no canvas issues! All this as well as the low profile towing which keeps drag reduced and fuel mileage from taking the huge hit like a TT would do.

Congratulations on the new trailer, you'll have a great time with it!!

We had a 'slideout" HiLo on our dealer lot. We never could figure out what to call it. Fallout seemed more accurate. For those who have never seen one, it is hinged on the bottom of the slideout and clamshells from the inside of the camper to the open position.

That said, the couple I sold it to, loved it. The units do seem to have some unique to them items. One thing, you realize the moment you walk in that you are dealing with a rectangle. The other, it that they like to use some very flimsy 22 gauge or less metal for the access doors. They bend all over the place.  Bathroom is huge (at least when you're in a size bigger than 17').

People who like them, like them.  It is definitely a love-hate product.  Very different than a TrailManor which ends up sorta like a hard sided popup when opened.
