Quote from: PITPOP27....It's definitely Ventura CO.
Maybe it's Emma Wood - I'm gonna look at the details.
Nope, Emma Wood is next to McGrath State Beach.

Mc Grath is a good place to go too.  If you camp in an inner loop, you can't really hear any traffic, in my experience.  If you camp as close to the ranger station as you can, of course you'll hear it.  We've been there several times and we took our Girl Scout troop there as well.  There is a nature trail that's quite long you can hike, guided or not.  They have an awesome ranger program Saturday nights.  Nearby is a marina shopping center that has quirky little shops and a great ice cream store.  There is also a beach nearby for the summer months that is perfect for kids -- little bit of waves, but not so much you have to be too concerned they'll get washed out to sea.  The beach at Mc Grath is too rough for swimming.  I've seen people fishing there though.  There are no hook-ups, so you need to bring your jugs of water.  The showers are pay and solar heated, so keep that in mind.

My son was playing in the off season club league (OCWP) at El Dorado last year, but the drive twice a week along with too much homework and the fact that he'd get out of swim practice about 4:00 and have to leave for
El Dorado by 5:15 got to be too much. Several of the boys joined at the recommendation of our former head coach, but most dropped for these same reasons by the next sign-up period. I heard a few are doing it this time around though. My son broke his hand his freshman season and missed basically the whole season, so El Dorado was good for him and helped him catch up to the other kids who had played when he was injured. Plus it's fun when he plays against kids from other schools that knows from OCWP.

Send me a private message with his name. I'll ask my son if he knows him.  Does Rachel's last name start with a "M"?  If so, my son knows her.
