What year and brand is your PU? If you have power when the trailer is plugged in the fuses are fine. Where don't you have power? Lights, the household type outlets? Do you have a charged battery connected to the trailer? To charge the battery you should use a battery charger. Most newer trailers come with a power inverter that will charge your battery, but they usually charge the battery at a slow rate and not all of the way. Your TV may charge the battery when towing, IF your vehicle is wired with a hot line to provide power to the trailer, and you have the charging line from the trailer wired into the campers plug. The TV doesn't do a good job charging. If the trailer has a propane detector it will drain the battery, unless the battery is disconnected when not in use. There is normally a kill switch in the trailer that will prevent the ceiling lights from coming on when the trailer is folded. It doesn't seem as if your kill switch is bad or you would not have power when plugged in.

it is a 2002 aero voyager
I don't know if the battery was charged up or not but we got it from a RV dealership
the inside lights and the water pump will not turn on without being pluged in

Does the camper have a battery installed on it?
Is the battery hooked up?
Is there a quick-disconnect plug between the battery and the camper?

Well I assume you haven't touched the battery since you brought the trailer home so here's what happened. You have a propane detector that draws a small amount of amperage 24/7 wether anything is hooked up or not. Figure the draw will completely discharge a group 24 battery in about 3 weeks.

We get spoiled by the batteries in out tow vehicles. No muss, no fuss, they just keep starting out cars/trucks without any attention from us.
Not so for trailer batteries.
A few rules I have learned the hard way to live by:

Get a good deep cycle wet cell battery.

Get a good smart charger. Not only will it do an excellent job of charging your battery they now have a % of charge meter that tells you just how much is in your battery.

Disconnect the battery when not actively camping. That ropane detector will draw any battery down to zip in a few weeks.

Charge the battery before you leave. No sense going camping with less than a fully charged battery.

Charge the battery as soon as you get home. Not much more that a battery dislikes than sitting partially discharged.

Charge the battery at least once a month during the "off season". Keeps the battery from being discharged more than a couple of percent.

Check the water level before and after ANY charging. Expose a plate and you've turned an expensive battery into a heavy door stop.

Try this:

Check to make sure your battery is installed and the terminals are celan etc. Hook your tow vehicle's 7 point light harness plug into your vehicle.  Make sure the 120v is unplugged from your trailer.  See if things work now (because you are actually using the 12v power From your T/V) .  If they do - your battery is bad or dead.  Recharge it and go from there.  If things still don't work, make sure that the main disconnect plug that feeds 12v to the trailer (usually near the toungue of the trailer) is not unplugged.  Just look for something unplugged near the battery box.

On older trailers there was a electrical control center near the fuse box and you had to manually flip a switch to choose either 12v power or 120v power.  Your trailer is new enough that you probably have automatic switching though.

I will try that thanks
