Has anyone had problems towing with the Chev Trailblazer 6cyl? Do I need a tranny cooler? Please help!

What are you pulling?  What's the tow rating on your tv?  I am gussing the tow rating on a 6 in 3500 to 5000.  So it depends on how big the PU is you have.  Our 05 Niagara weighs 3500lbs.  Glad to help but need more info.

We just bought a 2003 Coleman Tacoma. I know my tow rating is about 5200lbs and I have the tow package but because we live in CO I was wondering if I need a Tranny cooler. I'm taking it out today for the first time, can't wait for summer. My son and I going ice fishing at Granby and plan to stay the night. Any information/suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Joe

are you sure you don't have one?  some tow packages are just the wiring and maybe a hitch, but your tow rating would suggest a heavy duty type towing package (especially if you have a factory installed 7 way connector).

If you look at the radiator, you should see a very small radiator that you can trace the hoses back to your a/c condenser.  If you have any other little radiators then they are for you oil and/or tranny coolers.

Bottom line, if you are going to be towing on a regular basis you should have a tranny cooler.  It will prolong the life of your tranny and help reduce any possible problems.

even if you decide to add one, unless you are going to be racing up the mountains at 70+mph you'll be ok untill you get around to having one installed.

Just my two cents

You may already have a tranny cooler.  Take a look in front of the radiator.  I was plesantly surprised to find that our Jeep had the transmission cooler installed already.

My '02 Trailblazer has the Class III hitch and 7-pin connector factory installed--I think all Trailblazers come from the factory with that setup.  I do NOT have a tranny cooler installed, although it doesn't look like it would be a big problem to put one in.
