New additions to the family

Erika and I have two new furry additions to the family.

Everyone already knows Trooper, the newbies are Dingo (a 1 year old Basenji mix) and Sasha (10 weeks old lab/shepard/malamute/rotweiler mix).

Go to my web  page and click on the "pets" link to see pictures.

Over New Years we were visiting our daughter Kelley in Delaware City, and saw this dog roaming the streets, eating out of the trash etc. This was not the first time we had seen the dog, he had been outside for months, but we were spurred to action this time. We brought Dingo home, and called the Delaware SPCA to advise them we had picked him up. We brought him home and after a day or so of housebreaking refresher training he settled into his new home (or so we thought). Several days later we had a message on our answering machine from Dingo's owner requesting his return. We agreed to bring Dingo to the Delaware SPCA (I could not meet the owner in person lest I abuse him the way he abused Dingo) and the owner could pick him up there.

We were heartbroken, since Dingo was such a great dog and we had bonded instantly. Those of you that have met me know I am not usually one for great displays of emotion, but I cried all the way home from Delaware. After a week or two, we realized that we had room for more than one dog in our lives. A friend of Kelley's had a dog who just had a litter of puppies and offered us one, so we decided to adopt Sasha. Just a week later Kelly called and told us she had heard from Dingo's owner. It would appear that he was keeping Dingo in his apartment in violation of his lease. The landlord gave him 24 hours to get rid of the dog or he AND the dog were out on the street. Of course we said we would happily take Dingo back, so now there are three.

There is a lot more to the story, but I'll save it for the next get together, hopefully Tracy's Birthday    ;)

Congratulations on the growth of your family.  Every fur kid should have a good home.  How is Trooper adjusting to the invasion?  What is the status of your camper?  I hope you make April.:)

Trooper is doing a great imitation of a grouchy old man, but he is adjusting well.

I picked up the camper Thursday night, and it is safely parked in my driveway  :yikes:

Though all the potential falling objects have been removed  :)

Just have to work through some scheduling stuff before we can commit to April.

Also looks like we'll be doing Cape Henlopen SP over Easter weekend.

Glad you got the camper back.  How does it look?  Can you tell it had a tree fall on it?  I hope not.  We have reservations at Assateague Island for Easter, so we should plan on hooking up at some point over the long weekend.  IF we don't have any more school snow days this season we will camp from the 12th late arrival or 13th mid day arrival at Assateague and come home on the 18th.  We have reservations starting the 15th, but that is the first day the campground has reservations for the 2006 season.  I hope no one has my site on the 12/13.  I don't want to have to move our camp on the 15th.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes gang!

Just so no one accuses me of keeping secrets...

Erika, my parents, and I went to the Atlantic City RV show last Friday. I only left Erika unattended for a few minutes...

"Honey would you like to see our new trailer???"

Uggghhhh!!!! :eyecrazy:

To be fair, it's a very nice unit, and the extra room will be nice since my folks will be coming with us fairly often. You'll probably get to meet them in April or May.

That's the LAST time I'm going to an RV show...  :(

Actually, it's all good, but I have to bust Erika's chops sometimes...

See the sig for the new trailer...

Congratulations on the new trailer.  I see that Erika has good taste in campers.  Hope to see all of you at Trip in April.:)

Actually the formula is:

tree fall -> hit camper -> fix camper -> buy new camper -> lather, rinse, repeat  :D

I'll be picking it up on Friday the 24th.. pix to follow shortly thereafter...
