Camper!!!!  Well actually it's a used camper, but new to us, you know how that goes...

Since I left my Govt job and all my time off I have been in a camping panic (so has Albert) believe it or not on the Albert part!  NO TIME OFF TO CAMP is my problem...so we decided to go for a camping rig that sets up as quick as possible so that we can feel ok about just going for a weekend...

we bought a Aliner, we call her "Allie"

Hope to see you all camping this year!

Debbie and Albert Congratulations!  They are cool campers and I think there will be one in my future.  So when are you going to come and camp with us?:)

HersheyGirl

Oh you guys!  That is so great about your new camper.  I just can't wait to see it, so now you will have to go camping with us SOON!  Have fun with it.

Congrats! :# Will you be joining us for Tracy's birthday bash in April? We'd love to see your new camper.

debbiedee1957

Maybe....now that we have a hard sided camper...April is cold in the Poconos.....Burrrrrrrrrrr

I was just getting used to NOT being in that neck of the woods.  For sure we will be at Fall Rally in Locust Lake & we want to try & fit a trip in over a weekend this summer.  Due to my extremely limited amount of vacation time I am having to rethink trips, boiling them down to close to home over a weekend.  We are going to go to the Folk Music Festival at Spring Gultch....that is a fun weekend you can go to sleep to music in the air.

Also limited on weekends even as we are doing the college open house tour...Drew will be a senior next year.

congrats on the `A`! can't believe Drew is going to be a senior, boy time flies!

we are doing delaware in July ! the state fair will be on, its about 2 1/2 hours from you

DiW

Debbie,
We're busy doing the college tour bit, too since Jason is a junior. I think we'll be heading to VA & NC over spring break to look at a few schools. He's busy in the fall and probably won't be able to visit then. Besides visiting colleges, there are the SATs, the SAT IIs, AP exams, etc. Too many busy weekends...

Dee-

Will have too see about the fair....maybe we can come down for a visit at least.

I agree on too many busy weekends... oh well this year will be a flurry of activity and then they should be settled in for another 4+ years...of course then there is time to move in the dorm, out of the dorm, spring break, summer jobs, christmas break, ...it's all good.....

Kids really don't know how good they have it today with their parents facilitating & helping them through all of this (of course it is the way it should be) but I remember I showed up on the college campus and had to fend for myself and figure it all out...it was something...but I suppose it made me a stronger person....hope we are not "doing" too much of the work for our own kids, know what I mean?...you do the best you can do & that is all you can do.

debbiedee,
Having a college freshman, I've also gotten to experience all that other stuff too. We only had to drop ours off in Aug, she found a ride home at Thanksgiving, drove a car back after Thanksgiving and drove herself home at Christmas - so really didn't involve us much. Since we were fortunate enough to find a great cg near her & Lake Ontario, we added a weekend visit  :D  in Oct. Probably won't visit again until nicer camping weather... or to bring her home in May. Amazing how much stuff girls take & can cram into a dorm room. Boys, on the other hand, seem to pack camping style - bare minimum.

Count youselves blessed! Jeffrey is in the 9th grade for the 3rd time...when he goes to school...AND stays out of trouble.

debbiedee1957

Hang in there Paula. Maybe he would adapt better to a curriculum that is trade based, have you thought about giving that a try, they usually have Vo-Tech programs.  Maybe something with Computers or AutoMech.  This summer everytime you drive by a asphalt crew or guys taring a roof, be sure & point out that that is what he will end up doing if he doesn't go to school.
