We are looking to purchase our first pop-up  but are having some difficulty knowing exactly what the specs are for a used camper that is advertised.  We know exactly what size box and weight we need, but when looking at used campers don't always know this information.  Is there anywhere to go online that one is able to type in a manufacturer, year and model and get the specs??
Thanks for any help!

Welcome to the world of PU camping and PUT.  I don't know of a web site, but if you post the information on the camper someone here might know the information you are looking for.  You can take a tape measure along to measure the box size and there should be a plate on the PU that has the weight listed.  It is often on the tongue of the trailer.  Good luck finding the trailer you are looking for.:)

Hi, I went through this also.

If it is only three years old or so, you can generally go by the present literature from the manufacturer.

What I found though was if it is from the late 90's to around 2002, they were lighter back then.  Don't ask me why.  For example an older Taos or the smallest Jayco 8 box was around a 1,000 lbs.  now they are in the 1200 lb range.

I was able to find much of this info by simply doing a google search on the specific name of the pup and year I was looking for.  They will pop up on dealers websites and they often have the specs.  It can take awhile, but a question on e-bay for example will often have the seller going out and getting the info off the spec plate and answering your question.

Oh and a question here or on one of the other pop up boards will often get you an even faster more detailed and friendly answer.

Good luck.

NADA RV values will give some information - like base wight, meaurements of width and the opened length and just how many the unit is supposed to sleep.
