Dan & Kristi,

Sorry you won't be able to make it, but I hope you have fun at Kenzie's soccer game.

Gee, no Brian, no Dee, no Lisa, no D&K...I might actually go to bed at a decent hour on this trip!  ;)

We were planning on doing pie iron breakfasts on Sat am. For dinner the chicken recipe I posted and a new lemon cake.

I think we're not going to be playing much and resting up from playing with the grandkids.

Take the K out of that D&K - you know that I only stay up so that Brian will let me keep my t-shirt!!!

Dan read my post and told me that Kenzie could skip her game - campfire was more important - but he doesn't know that my aunt is coming from out of town to watch her!

Kristi--tell Dan not to worry about the campfire.  We'll share many, many more. :)

OC Campers

Have a great time guys.  We will be thinking of you.

Well, as the first one back, I'll say that it was a delightful time for me -- even though I came home with a temp of 100.2!  Guess I really was sick ... :D

Saturday breakfast was great -- lots of "comfort food" for me!

Did the kids try their hand (feet?) at the kids' bike race?  Did anyone end up volunteering?  Could you hear the announcer all night?

Well, I'm determined to be hale & hardy by Guajome, so I might be a bit more sociable.  Thanks again for your support & friendship.  It sure makes camping a special experience.

Dave & Lori -- I promise I'll remember that hook-ups are on the right & I'll bite the bullet & back in, even if it takes me all afternoon!

Well, I got a few pictures, such as they are ...  Dinner sure was good, though!

Well we made it home without any problems, no traffic and no delays.
To fill everyone else in,  on Friday we were all packed up and left right on time.  We always make a stop for lunch before hitting the freeway, so this time we decided to go to Weinterschnitzl, we parked and were inside still ordering at the counter when some guy ran in asking if someone owned the truck with a trailer out there..."some one just broke into it".  Went outside to see glass still falling.Apparently the crooks used a crowbar to smash the passenger window, they then grabbed Kim's crochet bag and make off with a bunch af thread.

We had to head back to the house and ended up waiting until 6:30 PM for a window glass guy to replace the window.  We asked the kids if they wanted to stay home tonight or made the drive to camping this late, unanamous..GO CAMPING!,we put the kids in PJ's and headed out.  We got there about 9:30 something, and THANKS to Lori, Dave, Moose and JIm we got setup in a hurry.

We were glad on Sat morning that we made the late trek, breakfast for great, good food as usual.

The kids loved the bouncers on saturday and all the playing with Griffin.  Too bad our fire was rained out so early, but like the kids we didn't have too much trouble drifitng off..zzzzzzz:) Glad it wasn't rainig for the pack up.

Dinner was great, desserts were especially good:D

This weekend kicked off our 2006 camping season, we look forward to our upcomming trips.

What a fun weekend with SCCAMPERS. It rained. What else is new! They were having an annual 24 hour Temecula bike race while we were there and the whole back area where we were in October was filled with Indian Guides and Pincesses. We watched Griffen do the kids bike race and had lots of fun.

It turns out the announcer of the race is an Eagle Scout and was very interested in our Dutch ovens. After dinner we took the leftovers to them and you would have thought we were special. Lori made lasagne and a pineapple upsidedown cake and I did Bistro chicken and a lemon cake. They were excited and ate everything. Friday night Lori and I provided pie irons so people could make sandwiches and desserts over the fire or on the grill. Turned out great.

I think that some of us are going to plan to come back next year for the same weekend. It was a lot of fun and very relaxing. We got home about 3:30 and were off to Stuart Anderson's by 5.

Thanks, you guys, for watching my pooch on Thursday.  You know, I won't leave her with just anybody ... :)   I'm sorry I took off so quickly.  I just wanted to get home & go to bed, which I did quite nicely until noon on Sunday.  I'm glad to say that I'm up & functioning at school today, and yes, I'm counting the days until school's out.  43 more!  But the good news is that I have a camping trip planned between now & then!  Yipee!

cjpoppin

Sounds like a very good idea to us.....We had such a  relaxing time.....Campfire on Friday was fun and the pie irons fun......So count us in for the next years trip!
