Refugio SP Campgrounds

We just got back from 3 days at Refugio. It is a great State park with a typically beautiful coastline.

We were a little concerned about the noise of the trains as the tracks are just a few hundred feet from the CG as shown in this pic:


As you can see from the pic, we got the absolute worse spot in the CG. The trains didn't actually end up being the problem. The highway noise was terrible. We were in spot #28. I would recommend #34-40, if you can get one. The closer to the beach, the better.

The restrooms were clean and the CG was generally well cared for. They have pay showers.  They offer fire rings and picnic tables in each site.

The beach walks are spectacular. The walk south is the best with tide pools, caves and spectacular rock formations and colors.
