I looking to get more ground clearance with my Coleman/ Fleetwood Taos. I think I'm going to do an over under and take the leaf spring from under the axle to over the axle. I should see 2 or 3" of lift. I plan on camping in the back country of Colorado and Utah. Anyone here done this? I loved to hear what others think.

Fairly common, but figure on about a 4" lift. You can get a fairly acurate figure by measuring the spring pack thickness and the axle thickness.

A few things to remember: The drawbar will have to be replaced.
The stabilzers also be four inches higher and will need some shimmign on more uneven sites where the extra will keep them from reaching the ground.
Also the door step is 4 inches higher as well. Depending on the height and physical condition of the people using the trailer an extra step make be needed.

Yes, but only for 2 3/8 and 3" axles. I have a 1 3/4" axle, so lucky me, I'll be welding spring seats on my axles.
