Weighing a popup

Just how do you weigh a popup? Do you go get in line with the semis at the weigh station on the interstate? It seems to me they would get upset waiting for you to weigh the combo, then the axles then unhooking to weigh the tongue.

I'm not having any problems (that I know of) I just would like to know. Not knowing bothers me though.

 First, take a look at the webpage for weighing
 then visit the CAT SCALE SITE
 
 I believe there is a scale at Ft Pierce and their measurements are certified.
 Stop by, talk with the person who does the weighing and find out the best time to come by.
 
 I have my own scale for weighing the tongue I bought from Sherline  and use it prior to departure but there are other ways to weigh the tongue using inexpensive bathroom scales.
 
 I hope you find the info useful and can use it to get your rig weighed.  I weighed my TV just after I bought it and had a full tank of gas.  I considered it my TV 'empty weight.' Next, I hooked up the popup which was empty as purchased and had the TV and popup weighed at the CAT scale.  Prior to departure for the scale, I weighed the tongue with the Sherline scale.  I now considered this combined weight of TV+popup as my rig's 'empty gross weight' [my term].  Then when I was ready to depart for my next camping trip all loaded, I weighed the tongue then I stopped by the scale and once again weighed the entire rig.  Now I have my fully loaded 'camping weight' and as I checked the numbers, I made sure that none had exceeded the allowable limit set by the manufactures.  Came in under weight since there are just the 2 of us + our Golden Retriever.  This weekend I will load more firewood since I have 'room to spare' and it still tows like it isn't there.

I go to our local landfill transfer station.  They've been very helpful in weighing the camper.  I weigh the entire rig first, then drop the camper and weigh the TV alone.  They even give me a printout of the weights when I'm done, and don't charge a cent to do it.  The only other thing I have to do is figure the tongue weight, which I can do at home.

Here are other places you many be able to get a weight on your trailer: feed mills, quarries, transfer stations, and truck stops.
