Does anyone have a Sorento as a tow vehicle? WE have an Astro as the primary TV, but I was replacing my car and thought it would be nice to get something that could double as a spare TV.

The 2006 and previous Sorentos are rated at 3500 lbs towing capacity.  What size is your popup?  If you have a smaller or midsize popup, the Sorento should be just fine.  If you have a larger PUP, it might be a bit underpowered, especially in the mountains, but should still be able to handle it in most conditions.  Maybe someone who already tows with one can chime in.

Before I bought my Durango, I test drove a Sorento.  Seemed like a pretty well-built, sturdy vehicle, especially for the price.  The main reason I didn't buy one was that I wanted 3rd row seating.

However, the 2007 Sorentos are rated at 5,000 lbs.  That would tow any popup.  If you are looking to buy new rather than used, you might want to wait until the 07's come out.

DON'T BUY A KIA!!!!!

I've never owned or even driven a Sorento, but we bought a new KIA Sedona minivan in 2002.  Piece of crap!!!! We started having mechanical trouble out of it about 2 weeks after buying it and it didn't stop until we got rid of it.  The catalytic converters were first, a/c went out on a trip to Florida, starter went out, alternator went out, front end wouldn't stay aligned so we went through 2 tires every 8-10 months, brakes needed adjusted/replaced every six to eight months, both headlights burned out within 1 year of purchase, thermostat went bad, almost everything on it was made of plastic, and I don't even remember what else.  Having a jerk for a service manager doesn

I wouldn't have another if it were given to me.  Just long enough to trade it back to the KIA dealer.
P.S.  I remembered some more stuff that went wrong:  Had to replace one of the back seats, replaced two of the rear seat belts-one of them twice, and the sliding doors on both sides were always grinding and the rollers were coming off all the time.   :swear:

Just to reiterate.....I HATE KIA
