I have a 1974 nimrod pop up trailer..with 3 pull out beds

just got it free and love it

the hard top has a Vinyl cover on it that has some rips in it i have tryed very strong tape but the minute you pull it anywhere the tape rips off and usually more vinyl goes off with it .

the inside of the hard top roof has some water damage also and i will be fixing or replaceing that also but first i want to fix the outside..

does anyone know the easiest way to fix something like this ?

i have e-mailed my rv dealers (no response)

and someone told me i could go to a sprayon bed lines for pick up trucks and have that put on the top but i dont know if that would work or not.

any help would be great thank you...

I never thought of that before but if it will adhere to the surface being sprayed, that should do a good job. It may not be real pretty. Also, find out if you can get it in white or if it can be painted white.

What is the material under the vinyl that keeps peeling off? Can you peel off all of that vinyl material?

I never thought of that before but if it will adhere to the surface being sprayed, that should do a good job. It may not be real pretty and it may be a little heavier. Also, find out if you can get it in white or if it can be painted white. I sure wouldn't want a black top on my PU. It may get real hot, real fast, inside that PU.

Why not just replace the vinyl?? You can get it at any fabric store. And with a little elbow grease, you'll have it done in no time. And it will look 100% better then that black spray on stuff.

Just my two cents... :D

I have never done that before there is a big seam down the middle how would i stich it ?

i am not even sure how to take the whole roof off yet.

i guess i could get a book and learn i am just afraid to start taking it apart and not know how to get it back toghter..

and i agree with not spraying it..thats why i was looking for other suggestions..

thank you.

It seems to be aluminum but i have not taken the roof off or anything yet. its in a storage facility and i dont have a garage or anything to do that much work but i will have to figuer out a way i might just see how much it cost to have the Vinyl  re-done.

i am just trying to not put to much money into it yet...

The spray on bedliner material is made in different colors. I know someone who got it in tan to match his Dodge pickup.
