keeping upper door latches fastened

This is a question for you Jayco PU owners out there. We have a new Jayco 1007, and I noticed that the two latches (locks?) at the top are so small it is hard to keep them latched. As a result, the top of the door often separates from the tent.

Has anyone else out there come up with a solution for this problem? The holes through which the top two latches or securing locks come seem big enough to accomodate something bigger and more secure, so I wonder why Jayco didn't do that.

I have an 02 Jayco.  I can't remember looking at the other three latches, but I put a padlock on one of them....through the hole thingee that protrudes once the latch is latched!!  :)

Are you talking about securing it for travel or when the PU is set up? I'm referring to securing the door when the PU is set up so it doesn't separate at the top while you're camping. Sorry I didn't make that clear before.

I have problems with them off and on. They seem to be sensitive to how level I have the pup. If I'm off a bit I'll have trouble getting them to latch and unlatch so I've just done my best to get it as level as possible and live with the rest. Their size and position really make it difficult to find a better way.

What drives me nuts is that latch that is supposed to hold the upper and lower sections of the door together. I've never been able to get it to stay latched despite the dealer tinkering with it several times. I've given up and just leave it unlatched.
