What kind of portable TV antennae do you get for a Pup? I had a built-in, raisable one in a motorhome, but need something to hook up when the grandkids are camping with me at the beach? Any suggestions? I don't have DISH network. Thanks!

We got one a radio shack basic little antenna with a booster dial, works fine for local channels. have fun at the beach!!!

We have an outside telescoping antenna we bought at our RV dealer.  It is meant to be mounted on the top of an RV, but we just put in in a tree with bungee cords, then run a cable inside to the television.

Have a great time at the beach!

I just have a set of rabbit ears that plugs into the cable connection on my TV and sets on top of the TV. Picks up the local stations very well. I think I bought them at Radio Shack.

With only about 8 months left of air broadcasting, what will everyone do for tv signals?  Will there be more people using the digital signal of satellites like DISH and DIRECT TV while roughing it?

You can get one of the converters. Use the $40 off coupon from the government and purchase one. Here is the link to get 2 coupons per household. https://www.dtv2009.gov/   It works great on rabbit ears and it has a very good picture and It is all digital. The Zenith I am looking at is at Circuit City and all I have to pay out of pocket is $20

JohnandLeann, there will still be "air broadcasting" of tv signals after 8 months from now, the only difference will be that they will be digital instead of analog signals. If you can get UHF tv with your antenna now you are good to go for the digital signal since it is broadcast in the UHF bandwidth. We have bought 3 new tvs within the last year with digital tuners to replace ones in our bedrooms and dinning room and we get very good digital reception with the same antenna we have always had. I have a Winegard Sensar antenna I use with the popup and it also works very good to pick up the digital signal.

I know that everyone has their own "thing" when they go camping and I'm not saying that one way is better than the other but television is one of the things we go camping to get away from.

I use a set of rabbit ears with a built iin signal amplifier.  It was essential to be able to pull in signals to watch the White Sox win the World Series while camping in remote Arkansas.
