Just a quick poll to find out how many Pop Up Times members are retired vs. still slaving for the man :)

It was inspired by me noticing that I find the helpful hints here more usable than many of those I find on RV.net, which I recently started using because of the Mexico and South America forum there. Upon reflection, It seemed to me that the big problem with a lot of RV.net advice is that it is often from and consequentially tailored to retirees. It is still good advice, if you are not having to worry about work schedule in addition to camping schedule, but tends to lean a lot towards 'slow down, take more time, spend an extra 2 week here or there' which is not always helpful to those of us struggling to get 5-7 days away from work for our camping trips.

So I decided to take a quick poll to see if us wage slaves outnumber retirees on this board, or if we just have more thoughtful retiree campers who tailor there responses to be more usefull to all.

What can I say, it is a slow Friday, and I'm stuck here waiting for a phone call, needed to do something to fill the time.

Well, so far either we're all wage slaves, or the retirees are just to busy camping to answer poll, while us wage slaves are surfin' net while 'working'. :)

Both wife and I are retired and camping as much as possible..Last year we logged 79 nights in the popup which now has almost 35,000 miles on it, touring in 29 states...WE both have our own home business's and these keep us busy doing the things  we like to do while keeping us from being full timers in the rocking chairs...We stay active  and are really enjoying life..Work awhile and loaf awhile is our motto....

July 1st was my DH first whole day of retirement and we spent it camping in Yosemite........Plan on doing as much camping as we can afford.......Next campout will be in Big Bear for 10 days......I really enjoy having him at home.....My honey do list is getting done now! Hahaaaaaaa

Thanks for the votes and the posts from retirees.

And congratulations on DH's retirement, cjpoppin

I have a while before retirement yet, unless lotto numbers hit :D

But find that camping combines well with my other outdoor activities, so try to devote as much of free time and excess budget to it as possible.

Looks like were runnin' about 3/1 wage-slaves/retirees so far...

I will have to second this one.

DW and I are both retired and enjoying every minute of it.  We try to get in as much camping as we can and like to do one and two month trips but also do shorter trips.

There is only one downside to retirement, that is that you are older so you can't do as much as you could when you were 40 but it still is nice to do what you want and do it at a slower pace.

DW and I find it amazing that we had the time to work now that we can do what we want when we want.
