Some JB Weld, or other epoxy will do a much better job than just glue.

On my Cheyenne(2001) I had a crack in the front I have no idea how it happened but I susspect the service center did it when I last had them do maint. repairs on it.  any way I didnt want to get into it with them  because I had noticed one of the welds on the storage compartment lids was coming off.  So I went to the auto repair store and got some fiberglass repair compound.  Im not sure wqhat it was I got but it was for repairng  car bumper(non metal)  It dried after 24 hours but it was a cream color so I sanded it down to a smooth surfice and lightly spray painted it you cant even tell where the small crack was.  I think that compartment has a design flaw at the top latch where the seem weld was coming off.  perhaps the previous owners were standing on it or what ever but when I repaired the rim round where the seem was going I did it the same way as above but I took a skinny toothpick size peice of plastic I found and reiforced the edge of the lid and you cant even tell from the outside what I did.  The dealership where I take it and where the guy I bought it from bought it wanted $900.00 to replace the entire thing and told me they wouldnt do anything similar to wha tI did!!!  All in all I spent about $9.00 to repair it and I had the satisfaction of DIY and needles to say I did nt have to get in an argument with the people whom I suspected damaged it.  I now do all of my maintenece myself(ie bearing repacking and spring lubing winterizing etc...)
