Hello all,
Here I am again with another issue. In another thread I was excited about a possible purchase of a choice of 2 pop ups, but when I got to the dealership they were both sold. I am totally bummed. A friend of mine is selling a 1995 Rockwood 1910, the sink faucet is broken and mold damage on the ceiling, a 8 inch hole in the screen of the canvas and a few tiny tears in the canvas. He is asking 1,800.00 for it and I am not sure it is worth it, considering that I wouldn't know the first thing about reparing it myself. Otherwise everything elce is in working order. Is that a fair price for it? He is also including all camping equipment as well. Please help me. I am starting to think I will never be like you and actually own a pop up. that I will be stuck with the tents ugh I am just frustrated and not too sure which way to go. I have a s-10 n nothing to put on the hitch.  :(
Thank you in advance
Steff

I also forgot that the zipper is broken on one of the windows and is seperated from inside sun shade.

Sounds like to many serious problems. Mold on the ceiling could be a leak.
From your description I would keep looking. Don't rush into a purchase you may regret.

Keep looking, there are plenty of good reasonably priced popups out there. The end of the camping season is a better time to shop as many more people will be selling good popups for various reasons. Dealers will also have good deals on used units to avoid having to store them for the winter......

Mold damage = leak = rotted roof possibility.  I agree with the others.  Keep looking.  The right PU will come along.

No offense but your friend is asking way too much for his camper. $1800 would be a great deal if it was in MINT condition with no need of repairs. I too was like you and lost a couple of great deals on campers. One I had called on wasn't sold yet, so I made the 1 hour drive and when I got there it was gone.

However I waited, shopped around and found one from the newspaper classified section. I was prepared for the worse when I drove out to see it, figuring it would be sold from under me like that last one was. Whenever I got there and seen the camper I was in shock to say the least. It was a 93 Coleman Roanoke and the man bought it brand new. They rarely used it and everything was in mint condition, like brand new. I paid $2000 for it and there was not even as much as a scratch on the body, the canvas was not ripped or even stained. The screens were all intact as the plastic in the windows. Plus he just put two brand new tires & wheels on it because he didn't want to sell it with the original tires on, and he even gave me those for spares.

There are deals out there and like folks stated above, look around and dont feel rushed into anything. The right one will come along for you and you will be a "happy camper".
