installing roof vents???

Has aynone installed or had installed a power roof vent? Does one have to worry about leaks? I have a coleman cottonwood pop-up camper and also just purchased a Hybrid camper with Air (which I loved with the heat of this summer), but I hated pulling the hybrid and am now thinking maybe I should have a power roof vent installed on the pop-up and keep that (which I can easily tow without anxiety ). I love all the features of the hybrid (bathroom, heat, air, hot water) but if I'm too afraid to pull it, it doesn't seem of much value.  Is there a problem with leaking with after-market roof vents?  Thanks

If you look up at the inside cieling of your PU, you will notice four little plugs arranged in a square.  That's where your dealer would install an A/C unit on your roof using the holes as a guide, (there is no roof bracing in that location, and your roof might be pre-wired).  You can install a roof vent in that same location, if you insist.  

As long as you use the proper gaskets and sealants at the time of installation leaking should not be a problem.

You do know that the reason Coleman/Fleetwood PopUps do not have a roof vent is because they do not really need one, or benefit from having one, unlike other brands.  The reason is the tent material.  Coleman/Fleetwood tent material is breathable, the solid vinyl and plastic used by some other manufacturers isn't.  Without a roof vent night time condensation is a big problem with non-breathable tenting.  Your Coleman/Fleetwood only needs a few open window flaps and an air circulating fan to completely eliminate condensation.

There are Fleetwood owners that install both a fan and an A/C unit to create "cross ventilation", (specifically over the potty to control certain odors).  In that case, you will need to find out where there is no roof bracing inside the roof's sandwitch construction.
