I just came home with my first pop up a 98 coleman niagara.  I appears to be in good shape and everything works good.  Anything I should look for?  I found some rot in front storage area floor but I can fix that.

I'd take a close look at the roof...at least if you have the one piece ABS roof that is... Look for sag in the middle (run a piece of string tightly across the top), look for sides to bow out, look for cracks.

My 98 Rio had some sag, and big problem with the sides bowing out...

We recently traded in our 1999 Niagara and we also had some water damage in the trunk area.  I have also read many post where others have mentioned it.
We thought at the time that we had let a bottle of water spill, but after having seen it many times with others I now think we were mistaken.
I would double check the seal on the trunk.  I think Fleetwood has redesigned their trunks and my guess is that it was not a great design.
Good Luck and enjoy your new camper!

We purchased a 2002 Bayside last year.  It has the same basic design including the front storage locker.  The reason I am posting in the rot in the compartment.  As others have mentioned, it is a very common problem and can be very labor intensive to completely correct.  I am not trying to scare you away, just making you aware.  Many people have completely rebuilt the front locker using pressure treated or other properly protected for outdoor exposure materials.  Mine too has water damage to the front locker.  However, for the time being, I have chosen not to worry about it and just enjoy the camping.  I'll fix it when it has to be done, just not now.  Mine seems to be leaking from the side access door and not from the top roof access.  As for sag, I am keeping my fingers crossed and hoping for the best.  Good Choice, and enjoy Camping!!!
