We spent Labor Day weekend at this awesome CG that caters to dogs and their owners.  This was a great CG!  I can't say enough good about it.  The facilities were spotless including the bathrooms.  There were several off leash areas for the dogs to run and play together and hiking trails as well.  There were many activities available such as Karaoke (sp?), bingo, pet photogragher, games for the dogs, etc and the owners were very involved and helpful!  A must for those of us who love to camp with our dogs!  Believe it or not the CG was not loud with barking dogs.  After dark there was not a bark to be heard!  Take a chance on this CG and you will be glad you did!  Stacey

It sounds like a nice campground.  Where is it located and do you have a link for it?:)

The link to their website is:  4pawskingdom.com and the CG is located in Rutherfordton, NC just outside of Chimney Rock, NC.  Stacey

We have stayed here a total of 3 times since last year.  We live about 1 hour from Rutherfordton and it is an easy drive from Asheville area.  This campground will wear your dog out if you let it!  The bathrooms are like you would keep at home and they are all private with a toilet, shower and a sink.  The owners usally have something going each weekend like a pot luck dinner, doggie bandana painting or time for all the dogs to go swimming at one time!  It is such a beautiful site to see all of the dogs swimming out to the middle of the pond to get a floatation device.  It IS a quiet park and when we go we usally do not leave the park but there is plenty to do in the area.

Thanks for the reminder!  I have always wanted to go there!  I will have to make reservations for next year! :-()

I made reservatins for next years' "Margaritiaville" party (It was to entice my hubby to go!), if anyone wants to join!  :M

I haven't made it to 4-Paws yet!  But, I do get their monthly newsletter and hope to set aside time next spring/summer for a visit.

It is so very nice to have a real honest-to-dog Pet-friendly campground.

DW and I went there with friends a couple of weeks ago.  Our friends rented a nice little cabin and we stayed at the back-in site immediately next door.

Bathrooms and Showers were the cleanest i have ever seen at a campground.  The owner was quite friendly as well.

We would definately go back.

Hey, those people (and furkids) in the picture for the April 5th 2008 event look familiar.:)

Spent about 10 days there this past spring...Memorial Day weekend through the next weekend. Heading back down there for another 10 days this coming weekend...we'll be there for one of the Oktoberfest weekends!

Campground is fabulous...clean, well-maintained, excellent facilities. My cockapoo, Molly, discovered her "inner spaniel" at the swimming pond and had a blast jumping into the pond to chase a tennis ball.

Not only was the campground great, so were the people--the owners & the other campers. I got sick the last weekend (ate something that disagreed with me) and Birgit (one of the owners) came to check on me when she found out. Brought me some of her own medicine for nausea & upset stomach, as well as a sports drink to help me keep hydrated. She and Meik are wonderful people and run a wonderful place.

If you love camping with your dog, this is the place to go!
