Hi,
I'm looking ahead to next year and was curious if anyone has stayed at Dunes Edge Campground in Provincetown out on the Cape....

We like going up to Herring Cove and Race point with the kids and the dog and are planning on getting a oversand permit next year so we are looking for a campground right near there.

any reviews/recommendations would be great.

Thanks!
Christine

Deb from Kent, Ohio

Hello.  My partner and I are from Kent, Ohio.  We stayed at Dunes Edge 2 years ago and are planning to go back this summer.  We loved it.  We felt like the sites were more secluded than they were at Coastal Acres (the other campground in Ptown)- though it seems to depend on where you are in any campground.  We did not have a popup at the time, only had a tent- but are planning to purchase a used pop up this year.

It is amazingly quiet there. The bathrooms were really nice, clean.  Metered showers.  Seemed like a propotional ammount to campsites.- No waiting lines that I can recall.

Seems that there are some bad reviews online- so I hope that our experience was more typical.  Maybe not too many people bother writing them?  I don't know.

The only thing to caution- do not try to walk to the Ranger Station.  It is much farther than it appears on the map- it is a hand drawn map they gave us when we registered on arrival.   It looked very close, but was not to scale whatsoever.  Biking distance- not so much walking.  (I am a bit fast paced)

Outter Cape is Better

Good choice. We stayed there after finding everything else full. Usually  we go to Truro but travel to PTown anyway. It was secluded and pretty quiet. One nice part was stringing the hammock between the pines and havingit rock when the wind blew. We had no complaints although down the road in Truro there are more spacious sites to be had. Either way you will be fine.
