Looks like a nice place. I've never heard of it.

I sure hope that your bikes survive that activity :yikes:

Wayne, great location!  The beach is nothing to write home about, just a great beach for dogs and surfers, however the city (Encinitas) is just adorable, so many little shops to look at, and across the street is Beach City Cafe  - GREAT breakfast Burritos!  We also had Shrimp tacos the night before that were SO great!  Making me hungry right now just to think about it!

This is one of the first places we took our kids on a campout when they got old enough.  Great place. Leucadia pizza in Ecinitas is great too!

We're about to go there in a couple weeks.  Thanks for the tips on where to eat.  We might eat out this time more than usual.

I hope the water is warm and I saw there's a place just south that is supposed to have great snorkeling.  I think it's called La Jolla Cove?

We were there in July 2005. Just a little FYI, ants and sand fleas are very active at this campground at this time of year. Make sure you bring comet cleanser to put around your tires and pads so they won't enter your PU. Also bring some cortisone creme to help with the bites. They have a nicely stocked camp store on the premises in case you forget.

(The white stuff on the ground is comet cleanser left from other campers).

Hope this helps.

fyi if you want huge pancakes for breakfast, there is a place towards town on the on a side street on the left, with tables on the sidewalk, that has a huge breakfast at pretty good prices, sorry can't remember the name...

The breakfast place you refer to in Encinitas might be the Potato Shack. It is definitely worth checking out.  Accross the road from the "Swami's" parking lot is  another good place - Swami's Cafe.  Good smoothies, breakfast, etc.
