We are headed to Niagara Falls the week of July 15. Figured we would get one more visit before passports are required. When we camp, DD always gets to bring a friend and getting a passport for each of her friends isn't very realistic.

We will be staying at Riverside Park Motel & Campground
There are some good reviews on this site and luvourjayco is a seasonal there. We met her and her family in a different CG in 2002.

Anyone else going to be in the area at that time?

I don't think we can make this trip.  We will be camping the week before at Cape May, NJ at the eastern PU rally.:)

Wild Wild Qwest

We won't be there this year. However, we have been to Riverside Park before and met Love our Jayco there as well. We were on site 69, which was a nice sized corner site across from the (spotless) bathhouse. If you have extra room, bring bikes! There is a great paved trail right in front of the CG and you can view the wild Niagara River as you pedal...

Have a nice trip and enjoy the area!

We stayed at Riverside 2 years ago and really enjoyed it.

Great idea on the bikes, we will definitely bring them. Thanks

Hey guys just a quick note for you all.  Site 69 while it is great is only 15 amp and water/ no sewer, so if you are planning on a/c or using a lot of grey you will not be happy with that site.  That being said it is a great site and when we were in the PUP we loved it.

Can you recommend a good full hook-up site? We will have already done a full week with no hookups at all in Maryland in June, this will be the luxurious trip.

Oh come on Charlie.  A week at Assateague with the sun, bugs and the chemical toilets.  Now that is real luxury! ;)

Well if the sun is out and it is warm out the water in the lines does warm up some.  Around 1400 is the "warmest" time to shower.:D

Charlie I will pull the map out tomorrow although when you call Ken and Laurie the owners, they are awesome.  Some of the sites are smaller but the service is always great.  Place is spotless and well run.  I will take a peek at your profile for the size of your rig and then check out the spots for you.

My hybrid is 28 feet opened and has a slide-out on the back side. Only slides out about 18 inches or so and is 6 feet long.

Thanks for your help.

I am including a link to the campground map.

My choices for a trailer your size Charlie would be 51 or 52.  There are some nice ones in the back too but those 2 give you a great view of the river.

I realize everyone is different and likes to do different things, but I'd like to share an enjoyable experience I recently had in Niagara Falls.

DW and I spent a few days over there right before the first of the year. One day we explored the power project on the US side. I think it's called the Robert Moses power project. It's a few miles north of the actual falls. I learned a ton about how electricity is produced from the power of the falls. I already know quite a bit about the general idea of power generation; what I was unaware of is how it is actually done at Niagara Falls. They have a lot of displays, and best of all, they have a huge diorama showing a scale model of the entire Niagara region. It makes it very clear how the water is diverted and stored and used for generating electricity. I highly recommend a visit, even if it is a little off your planned itinerary. It's free!

Enjoy!
