We have a 2005 Palomino Mustang which we have used quite a bit since we purchased it new. However our outdoor shower which we use mainly for washing our large dishes broke and started linking. I purchased a replacement but the plastic pipes on the inside no longer match up. It looks pretty simply to fix all the pipe are these little plastic hose and little pvc fixtures that simply screw together. However the problem I have run accross is where to purchase these fittings and pipe? Does anyone know?

I replaced all of the interior plumbing for our pop-up last year.  I found those plastic connector pieces at our local Starcraft RV dealer.  I purchased the plastic hoses/PVC from Lowes.  I replaced the existing with the dealer's plastic fittings and they said they would work with my older fittings that I was not going to change (I have a 1995 Starcraft).  They went together easily but did not create a perfect seal especially with higher water pressure.  I purchased a water pressure regulator for outside the camper (RV Store) and went to a local plumbing company and purchased brass fittings from them.  I used teflon tape, etc on each connection where the brass fittings were located and have not have a problem since that time.

My conclusion was that I was not very impressed with the plastic pressure-type fittings sold at RV centers, but was happier with the brass connections from the local plumbing supply shop even though they are more work to get on.  Also, water pressure regulators are a necessity because each camp ground has different water pressure and it is nice to have something to keep the pressure at a standard for the camper's sake.

Thanks for the info. I didnt even think of going to a plumbing supply house and I able to find one in our area, called them and they knew exactly what I need. I really appreciate it. I would prefer the brass as well because the plastic fitting just look like they will not last long at all.
Thanks again it was much appreciated and gave me some new ideas as well. The regulator info is also appreciated because we experienced a problem with that already once before.

No problem, anytime. My "simple" plumbing issue, which began with a small leak inside the camper, ended up being a summer of trial and error.  If I can help someone else avoid that type of summer, I'd love to help out.

Interesting thing about those plastic fittings, most of the leaks I got from them kept coming from where the hose connects to the fitting not from where the fittings connected.  The pressure from even low water pressure would push the hose off slightly, even if I tightened the pressure fitting down as far as possible.

By the time I was done with the project, I replaced everything twice, once with plastic fittings then with brass.  Never.....again....:).

Hopefully, your repair is much easier....

Good Luck!
